With “Denverdocsoc” our cause is to further the outreach and impact the genre has on humanity. Along with that, we will create a movement around documentary film in Denver. And mobilize people around our screenings, events and speakers.

We stand for the underdog. Independent filmmaking. The human spirit. Civil rights. Social justice. The environment. Music. Resilience. Love.

We prefer gathering at a theater, classroom or pop-up setting. Where we can interact and gather in-person to share in a story’s message or the impact it may have had.

We have seen this dusty old cowtown turn into a generous community that gets behind stories documenting people, places, events, and movements.

As an organization we have grown and have become known for our curation of documentary film, and deep understanding of documentary filmmakers. Audiences have come to trust the movies we present each year and we love taking them on a non-narrative ride.
